Syria condemns deadly Israel air strikes on ‘civilian sites’ near Damascus
Syria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has called on the United Nations to act following Israeli air strikes south of the Syrian capital Damascus, which a human rights monitor said have killed two people and left five others wounded.

Syrian state-run news agency SANA, citing a military source, said the attack on Monday evening at about 5:18pm local time (14:18 GMT) involved Israeli warplanes hitting “a number of civilian sites south of Damascus, resulting in material losses”. “The Israeli enemy launched an air attack from the direction of the occupied Syrian Golan” heights, the military source told SANA.

Death toll from Israeli attacks on Lebanon surpasses 3,000: Health
MinistryIsraeli attacks on Lebanon have killed more than 3,000 people in the 13 months of fighting between Hezbollah and Israeli forces along the border, the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health has said. The ministry said late on Monday that 3,002 people were killed and 13,492 injured since the beginning of Israel’s “aggression” against Lebanon. There were 589 women and at least 185 children among the dead, it added. While Israel claims that hundreds of Hezbollah fighters have been killed in its attacks, witnesses and independent reports from bombed communities across Lebanon attest to the high number of civilian casualties from widespread and indiscriminate Israeli air strikes and artillery shelling.
The Knesset has voted to ban the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, UNRWA, prompting much concern, even from Israel’s closest allies. Two bills were passed on Tuesday with overwhelming majorities: the first to halt the relief agency’s activities in Israel and occupied East Jerusalem, and the second to ban the Israeli state from interacting with the organization. The move would make it almost impossible for UNRWA to operate in Gaza and the occupied West Bank. It would hinder the agency’s financial operations and break aid supply chains into the enclave, where the north has already been starved, bombed, and besieged for about a month. More than 43,100 have been killed in Gaza since the war began.
